Washing the Cars: A Tale of Revenge

Washing the car on a hot day has to be another childhood joy.  Everett and Ashley certainly loved it when Joel got out the buckets and hoses last weekend.

Everett, my ultimate helper, got right down to business and worked almost the entire time.

I think he loves feeling like he's a part of something important.

The best reward for the kids was when Joel helped them onto the roof of our SUV so they could scrub away.

Ashley spent a very long time enjoying the bubbles.

And they both were distracted by dandelions.

At the end they got to play in their very own water bucket.

And they were so busy enjoying their miniature pool, they did not expect this icy blast from their father.

Joel was not the only one interested in soaking his family members.

Poor Ashley.  Just when she thought it was all over. . .

attack number two happens.

But Everett did not take two things into consideration:

First, that Ashley is almost three and is fully capable of revenge,
and Second, she will not hesitate when provoked.

(Everett is still unsuspecting but Ashley's face betrays her intentions)

"I GOT HIM!"  She shrieks.  It was a proud day for Ashley and a fun one for the rest of us.

Well, it was fun for all but William, who watched the excitement forlornly by the front door with a sippy cup of milk.
